The University of West Alabama was formerly called the Livingston Female Academy and State Normal College. The University is located in Livingston, Alabama. Five divisions of the university of West Alabama that grant undergraduate degrees are College of Business, College of Education, College of Liberal Arts, College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and Division of Nursing. The School of Graduate Studies provides post-baccalaureate study for people preparing for careers in professional education.
In the Honors Program at The University of West Alabama, undergraduates get an opportunity to grow intellectually.
There are extracurricular activities that provide cultural enrichment for the students and helps develop their special talents and skills. Jeff Branson, retired Major League Baseball infielder and Chris Mitchell, retired UWA Legend lineman are some of the famous alumni of University of West Alabama.
