Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design -Canada

Known as one of Canada's best known art and design universities and set up by the Vancouver School of Decorative and Applied Arts in 1925, the university is named after Canadian artist Emily Carr. A second campus at Great Northern Way is fully functional with the help of BCIT, The University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University.



  • The university offers various programs like:
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts, Visual Arts, General Fine Arts or Photography
  • Bachelor of Design in Common Design or Industrial Design
  • Bachelor of Media Arts, degrees in Animation or Integrated Media
  • Master of applied arts in Visual Arts, Design and Media Arts (2006)

Apart from these courses there are online courses and a Writing Centre which is helpful for both the students and the professors. The Emily Carr Institute Library has a large and varied collection of books on different subjects. some of the scholarships available are: Canada Student Loans and Provincial Student Loan Funding, Entrance Scholarships, Emily Carr Institute Scholarship, External Scholarship (finawards@eciad.ca) The college is renowned for studio-based programs in photo, print, media, mixed media sculpture, painting, and ceramics. The institute has accommodations for international students and has a library to cater the need of the students.
