University of Ulster Northern Ireland

Established in 1984, the University of Ulster is spread across 4 campuses located at Coleraine, Jordanstown, Belfast and Magee in Northern Ireland. Among all the fields of education offered by the University, it is specially recognized as being a stalwart educator in the fields relating to the Biomedical Sciences. The Department of Biomedical Sciences of the University has obtained high ratings from different rating organizations of the nation.

Scholarships

The University of Ulster is in the process of designing its scheme of scholarships. The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of exceptionally superior performance in a range of circumstances, academic status being one of them. They will be granted on a yearly basis.

Library Facilities

Despite there being a Library present in every campus of the University, students and professors are permitted to access the resources of all the Libraries. The Libraries of the University of Ulster possess over 750,000 books and many thousands of periodicals. Books may be borrowed across the campuses.

Student Support

The Students Union offers counselling on personal, study related and money issues. The shops, bars and food outlets run by the Union provide splendid service to the student community. The University of Ulster backs Sports as a high priority extra curricular activity. 1500 students are members of the University's Sports Union. Different sports clubs for different sports such as athletics, football, hockey, ju-jitsu, fencing, mountaineering and rowing coexist in the University.

Accommodation Facilities

The Coleraine Campus provides housing facilities for about 500 students in a Student Village. Students may lodge in five or six bedroom flats here. 700 students may stay in the Halls of Residence of the University's Jordanstown Campus. As there are no lodging facilities present in the Belfast Campus, students of this campus may avail of the accommodation provided in the Jordanstown Campus. 600 bedrooms are present in the Varsity's Magee Campus of which 400 are suites.
