Established in 1949, the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (RWCMD) is located at Cardiff Castle. It is a College that is part of the University of Wales. This College offers realistic training to students who want to either become musicians or thespians or be related in some way to the professions of music and drama in the future.
Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama offers courses in the following subject fields:

The College provides innumerable scholarships at the time of entering the College. There is fierce competition among students to avail these scholarships. In September 2006, the College opened a new Hall of Residence at Cambrian Point, a location situated at close proximity from the College. The Hall of Residence comprises four to six bedroom apartments which are fully furnished. The apartments are provided with a common living room and a modular kitchen.
