Established in 1975, the North East Wales Institute (NEWI) of Higher Education is an Institute located in Wrexham, a commercial town of North-East Wales. An Institute under the University of Wales, NEWI offers a splendid blend of a pleasant ambience, excellent faculty, a rigorous curriculum and a superb community environment to its students.
Courses Offered
NEWI is renowned for some of the professional education that it imparts such as Initial Teacher Training and Nursing. The Institute offers postgraduate and undergraduate courses in Art & Design, Engineering, Science, Humanities and Business. Scholarships
For non-UK European resident students, the Welsh Assembly Government will disburse a non-means tested endowment of £1,800 per annum directly to universities. This will reduce student fees considerably by about £600.

The Library at NEWI provides books, periodicals, films, CDs and other electronic services on a large number of topics to cater to students' needs.
