Royal Scottish Academy of Music , Drama Scotland

The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama is located in Glasgow, Scotland. It is a proud member of the Associated Board of the Royal schools of Music. University of St Andrews Awards the Research, MPhil and PhD degrees undertaken in this academy. Some of the best teachers in UK tutor the students in the academy. There are 90 minute individual lessons 30 weeks of the year, Chamber Music Coaching, Coaching for Singers, Weekly performance classes with professional accompanists, Second study instrument/ vocal lessons and a highly developed orchestral band program.

The academy has a department of academic studies which offers teaches subjects like, History of Western music, Analysis, Aural Skills, Orchestration and Arranging, Eletro acoustic Composition, Music Aesthetics, world Musics and Style in performance.



The three undergraduate courses offered are:

  • BMus with honours
  • Bed [ Music] with Honours
  • BA [ Scottish Music]
All the courses are for four years. The post graduate courses are:
  • MMus [ performance]
  • MMus [ Opera]
  • Master of Opera
  • MMus [ composition]
  • MMus [ conducting]
Facilities:

The Whittaker Library contains vast collection of resources required by the students of music and drama. The library also has exposure to the Culverhouse Classical Music Collection for the students to explore. The IT department of the academy gives access to the online resources to the staffs and the students. The academy provides accommodation to its first year students in the Liberty House very near to the university.
