Bevill State Community College

Bevill State Community College was opened in 1992. It was formed by the consolidation of two premier two-year colleges. The two colleges were Walker State Technical College and Brewer State Junior College.

The Bevill State Community College has campuses in four areas. The four areas are Fayette, Hamilton, Jasper and Sumiton. This multi-campus institution provides the citizens of West-Central Alabama with wide educational opportunities.

Bevil State Community College has a comprehensive curriculum of college credit and continuing educational programs. The programs meet the varied educational needs of the students. For those students who intend to continue their education at four year colleges and universities, Bevil offers courses equivalent to the first two years of a baccalaureate degree program.

Certificates and associate degrees in applied science are also offered at Bevil State Community college. Remedial and developmental studies are offered for students who want to strengthen their academic skills. Apart from the four main campuses, Bevill has two instructional sites in Carrollton and Double Springs. The programs offered at the college are Occupational, Academic, Adult Basic Remedial or HS Equivalent.
