The Alabama State University was founded in 1867. The University is located in Montgomery, Alabama. The University was originally founded as the Lincoln Normal School. The University was opened in its new location in Montgomery. The University provides learning experiences that are required to design students' intellectual abilities. There are four-year baccalaureate programs, master's degree programs and programs that lead to education specialist degree and doctorate degree. Students who want to earn a baccalaureate degree will have to complete a sufficient number of general education courses while in University College. Some colleges under the Alabama State University are College of Arts
and Sciences, College of Business Administration, College of Education, College of Health Sciences, School of Graduate Studies and University College.
