The Defence Acquisition University (DAU) is a United States military training establishment that trains military and civilian Department of Defence personnel. The training is given in the fields of acquisition and management. DAU has five regional campuses throughout the United States. The regional campuses are located at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Huntsville, Alabama, San Diego, California, Maryland and Kettering, Ohio. The University of Alabama in Huntsville and Defence Acquisition University have entered into a strategic alliance to advance the educational opportunities of the Defence Acquisition, Technology and Logistics workforce.
The Defence Acquisition University serves around 134,000 members of the DoD Acquisition, Technology and Logistics workforce. The Defence Acquisition University South Region Campus was opened in Huntsville on February 1, 2002. The goal of opening it was to transform acquisition training by providing products and services to the Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (AT&L) community.
