National University of HCM - Vietnam

National University of HCM was established in January 1995 under the Decree of the Prime Minister with the objective of integrating into the university system worldwide. It is a Vietnam Government approved university. This university was consisted of one research institute, eight member universities and two specific centers.

National University of HCM offers graduate, post graduate courses and doctorate degrees. At present it is comprised of
  • Center for International Education
  • Center for Educational Test and Evaluation
  • University of Technology, University of Natural Sciences
  • Research Institute for Environment and Natural Resources
  • International University, Faculty of Economics
  • VNU-HCM Foreign Language Center
  • Center for Information Technology Development
  • University of Social Sciences and Humanities
  • Center for National Defense Education
The fact that it is a reputed university can be understood from the number of staff (2.582), full time and part time undergraduate students (57.000) and post graduate students (3.300). HCM National University provides 80 doctorate degrees, 88 master's degrees and 112 bachelor's degrees.

The main aim of VNU-HCM is to become the largest university of Vietnam. It is building new campuses which will be modern and well-equipped. The expansion of the academic programs and facilities constantly also reveal that it is trying to meet the requirements of the 21st century. It has done a great contribution in Vietnam education.
